Happy Halloween

Our Halloween started on Saturday and ended today. It has been so fun with Bridger this year. We have had probably three photo shoots in the last 5 he is such a good baby letting my dress him up and take a million pictures of him. Next year will be so much more fun for him. He will get to enjoy it alot more and he will get to actually eat his Halloween candy instead of mom and dad!

{Trick-or-Treating}
We had fun on Sunday with Aaron's family doing Halloween games with all of the cousins.

First Taste of Fall

So it seems we have gotten our first real taste of fall and I am loving it. The weather has changed and it is finally that rainy, crisp cute scarft and sweater weather. So excited. We also have been filling this month with fall festivities.
{Cornbellys}

Bridger was loving the corn maze

{Clubfoot Brace Update}
Thank heavens we are over that awful hump. Bridger is finally used to his brace and it has made our lives so much easier. It was hard but we did it. The only time Bridger gives us any trouble is when his brace is off for a while and we put it back on. He really loves his freedom.
I will admit though it will be nice when he only has to wear them at night when he is sleeping because hauling him around in it is such a pain. The brace is so awkward and just seems to always be in the way.
The only thing Bridger's sleeping schedule is thrown off. Ugg it is such a pain, Bridger was sleeping 8 hours before he needed a bottle and now he is back in newborn mode waking up every 3 hours because when his shoes would wake him up he would be awake and realize, "oh I am hungry". Now he is used to his shoes but he is in that habit.
I called the nurse and asked what I should do because since he eats all night he does not eat during the day. So I asked if that was normal and she said no. Bridger should be sleeping through the night and she said to just let him cry. I don't know if I will be able to do that. It was easy with his shoes because I knew he wasn't in pain or anything but at night I know he will be screaming because he is hungry. Last night he slept for 7 hours so I am hoping we are getting back to where we were so we won't have to let him cry it out.
{Swimming}
We took Bridger swimming for the first time and I am pretty sure he loved it. I think he is still to little to realize what is going on. But we have our rec center pass, so I want to take him swimming at least once a week. That way he will be used to water and love it.
He did really good and it helped they keep their pool really warm. He mostly loved sucking the water off of his hands.

Burrows is quite the little hunter. He thinks he is bigger than he actually is :) I was dying the other morning when he was hunting and stalking me. I got a few of his attack on camera, here is one of them.
We are kind of obsessed with this little man
{Funny Faces}
Bridger makes the funniest faces. He seriously is so photogenic as well. He loves the camera so much already. He defiantly is Aaron's child :)

A Blog Post

So we have had our first sick baby. It first started with Aaron and then went to Bridger and then it visited me for just a couple days. Aaron is still getting over it 10 days later. Luckily Bridger is such a happy baby it was not bad at all.
But I was still a paradoid mama. The first few days I took his temperature like crazy and for a day I called the nurse and was convinced he had whooping cough. {thank goodness he stopped coughing the very next day} For some reason I was nervious for him to sleep in his crib so I just snuggled him all night. Having a sick baby for the first time and when they are still so little can be a little scary.
Poor little man just had a yucky cough and stuffy nose and was sneezing like crazy.  Top two things that worked was a hot steamy shower for like 30 min to clear baby up and Vick's on the feet, seriously, totally made a difference.
Little man is still the cutest and full of smiles even when he is sick.

{Brace Hell}
 So we are in Clubfoot Brace Hell!!! We went in for a two week check up with the brace and Bridger has not been wearing his brace half as much as he should. So we got some questions answered like "No you can't get the brace to tight" and "No, it doesn't hurt him" and "Yes, it is fine if he cries. We have had moms say their baby has cried 24 hours straight. You have to let him cry and get over the hump"
My oh my it sucks to just let your baby cry. It is like we have a completely different baby when his brace is on. Bridger is so sensitive when it is on as well. But these last few days we have not taken the brace off when he cries and it is getting better but that first day after the doctor visit was hell I tell you.
The first day Bridger was so tired. He seriously cried for 2 hours straight. He did not want to be put down and would only fall asleep like this on mama or daddy's shoulder. I didn't mind the snuggles.
 Bridger does best in his Bumbo with his brace.
There is no doubt this kid loves his daddy.
He was so tired his fell asleep sitting up.
MMMM I love a naked baby. I love his little chubby baby boobs :)
 There is one upside with the cast off, at least for now. Little man gets to enjoy his tubby time again and he loves it.
Don't even worry tonight is the first night Bridger is sleeping in his brace. So far in the last 2 hours he has woke up 4 times crying because of his brace. Sad baby. I have stayed strong though. Last night I caved and took his brace off. I have to keep it on or his foot will change back and he will have to have surgery. It is just hard for a mama to let her baby cry for ever.
Next blog post will be an update on nigh time.

{Blankies}
There is no doubt there is some serious blankie lovin in this house.
Whether it is being snuggled. . .
. . .or eaten
Bridger is not seen with out it

{Blessing Day}

 Bridger was blessed today, October 13, 2012. It could not of gone more perfect and I was surprised at how much I was not stressed out. I mean of course we did not get started on time and of course Bridger was in a good mood right up until we got started and pretty much cried the rest of the time. {he did not even have his brace on} but it all came together and it was a wonderful day

Bridger was blessed by his Great-Grandpa Thomas

I am sad Bridger was sad because I would of loved to get more pictures with everyone that came.
It was a great day regardless and we are so lucky to have such amazing family! Thanks so much to everyone that came and help out. Bridger is so lucky to have such great people in his life.
Our last couple weeks in pictures. . .

A Month Full of Updates

{3 Months Old}
My baby is now 3 months old!! We have loved every second and can't wait for the new stages. Bridger changes so much everyday. We love our little man.
Happenings for your 3rd month
  • You are still the happiest baby, that is when we know something is wrong when you are sad because it is so unlike you.
  • You are such a little monster. You love to growl. Especially when you are trying to eat the couch, your blankie, your bib or mama and daddy's bed. It is so funny.
  • I have found your ticklish spot and you are ticklish. You are still learning how to laugh so you only laugh sometimes and it is so cute.
  • You have discovered your hands and I love it. You mostly like to suck on them but every once in a while I catch you analyzing them and checking them out.
  • You have started to grab on to things. You love to grab you crab toy that goes above you.
  • You are starting to like tummy time more and more and you are so close to rolling over. Seriously you are almost there.
  • You sleep so good. You go down at 8 and get up at 5 to eat and then go back down for 3-4 hours. We are not through the night yet but almost. At least you let your mama and daddy sleep in till 8 or 9.
  • You have to always were bibs now, you spit up a lot more and also you are becoming a very big drooler. {Fun fact: before you were born when I would see any kid spit up or drool I would seriously dry heave. But now I will get spit up in my hair and it will crust up and I won't wash it out till the next day or so. Gross I know but if you are a mama you can understand}
  • I did not notice until a few days ago when we were at a family event but you recognise strangers now. You get scared when you don't know who is holding you very well and your mama or daddy is not around. You make the cutest sad face and pout your bottom lip.
  • You still love books and are starting to watch TV and movies. You love all of the fun colors.
  • You really are  so photogenic. You love your mama's phone {because the cover is fun polka dots} You seriously smile and pull the cutest faces when you see it. You love the camera and it loves you!
Bridger you are growing up and getting so big. You are more alert everyday and notice your surroundings so much. You are such a smart baby and your mama and daddy love watching you discover new things. You are the funniest little baby and you make us so happy!
{Primary Children's}
Bridger got his final cast off Thursday. Yahoo!! His foot looks great, you never would of know it was turned in at all. His foot and leg are just a little flattened and squished from the cast but after a few days of bottles it should plump out and be back to normal.
I will admit having the cast off for Bridger is not so fun at first at least because his foot and leg are hypersensitive from being in a cast for 2 months. So do have to slowly desensitize it by rubbing and massaging it with lotion and just touching it so he gets used to it. Now we just have to get his brace down!
Yay no more casts! Little man always does so good at the doctors.
The brace shoes are not super attractive, in fact I prefer the cast to them, but what can you do?!
So with these bad boy markers and about 3 hours last night we transformed his brace. . .
  . . .into some rockstar kicks
Little man seriously loves his cast off. When he had his cast he could lift his leg up and down and that was about it. Now his leg is free, free at last! Bridger seriously moves his legs now a million miles a hour. He loves to go to town kicking. It makes him so happy, which makes for a happy mama.
Now we had a happy baby to begin with and he is even more happy with a free leg but and that is a very big BUT there is of course a downfall, {his brace} He {HATES} and I do not like the word hate but it is the most appropriate word for the situation. Bridger does not like his brace at all!
This is the little man about 5 min before he realized he had his brace on. Happy, in a good mood. . .
. . .and here we are 10 min later
Such a sad baby, breaks a mama's heart. Seriously the saddest/maddest cry ever.
 . . .don't think I am a bad mama taking pictures of my screaming baby. I don't really have a choice, he has to cry a little. This is the only way little man will get used to his brace. Also I only let him cry for like 10 min
And no joke here is Bridger 10 min after the brace came off and he was able to calm down.
 We really are in trouble, we are supposed put little man in his brace 3 hours a day and add hours each day until 23 hours a day. And he barely can handle a hour. It doesn't hurt him really he just has to learn how to move both legs as one and the shoes have to be snug and tight on his little feet. So overall it is not to fun or comfortable in the beginning. We will get there though. Not to mention we have to check his feet every couple hours when he is in the shoes, we have to check for redness and blisters. Does not sound fun.
So there is that story.
{Life}
It has a busy month but isn't it always busy with a baby?! Pictures tell what has been going on with life best

 {First Time Camping}
It was our first taste of Fall at the KOA so we had to keep little man bundled
Second Cousins
{Cascade Springs}
I love, love, LOVE the fall and it is so pretty up in the canyon right now. I don't know what I would do if the canyon was not so close. I love the canyon in the fall. It is gorgeous and Bridger enjoyed himself too.
Bridger loves being outside as it is but he loved the canyon. All the colors and noises he could of stayed entertained for ever.

 mmmmm delisious Mi Ranchitos after.

 {Gardner Villiage}
We had a little family date for my birthday. Thats right I turned the big 23. So old I know :)

{2 month checkup}
Head-47% tile
Height-72% tile
Weight-55% tile
Bridger did so good with his shots, he only cried for a minute or so.
So I am so glad our little man has a good head of hair but I was just waiting for him to get the inevitable baby bald spot. He is getting it and I am sad but I hope it does not last long. So we are doing a lot of tummy time.
And little man doesn't like it so much. . . .

Burrows is warming up to Bridger, at least when he is quiet and sleeping
The crazy men in my life

Little man also got a bumbo and loves it for the first 10 min at least. He is warming up to it.
Love the bumbo for book time
Love our {family time}
